Jason Scott Hook was born in Zanesville, Ohio.  He is the youngest of six children and has a twin sister.  Most of Jason's childhood was spent in Shawnee, a small town in Perry County Ohio.  After Jason married his wife, Amy, they moved to Nelsonville, Ohio where they now make their home.  Although, they are looking forward to moving to Tennessee.

Throughout Jason's childhood he was surrounded by music.  He spent time in the school choir and performed in school productions.  He has always enjoyed singing since he was a youngun.  To this day, his siblings tease him about his "singing in the tub" days.

Jason began playing the guitar in his late teens, early 20's and began singing with a Perry County band in 2005.  He decided he wanted to pursue a solo career and see if he could make his dream a reality, thus left the band and began looking for his break.

His vocal sound is reminiscent of days gone by.  Jason loves traditional country and southern rock.  His influences include Johnny Cash, Waylon Jennings, Porter Wagner, Hank Williams SR and JR, George Strait, Travis Tritt, Trace Atkins, Toby Keith and many other country greats as well as southern rockers Lynyrd Skynyrd, Blackfoot, CCR and others.  Jason loves to sing, play his guitar and be in front of a crowd he says "as long as I make one person smile it's worth it."

In the past few years Jason has performed many solo acoustic shows throughout south eastern and central Ohio.  Jason spent much time performing at the Athens Farmers Market and several benefits for charitable causes and organizations, which he continues to do.  Over the years he has taken part in many competitions, winning several of them.

Jason began seriously chasing after his dream of signing a record contract in 2008.  In 2009 he was offered a couple of deals but decided to turn them down.  March of 2010 Jason signed with Colt Records Nashville and hasn't hit the ground yet!

JK Coltrain, president of Colt Records, said "Jason has a very unique vocal style and the ability to deliver a song as very few can."    Jason has recorded his first professional single from his debut album.  The single “I’m Not So Little Anymore” was released late spring 2010 and stayed on the Sound Click Country Charts top 5 for 10 weeks.  Jason’s album is slated for completion and will be out early this fall.

Currently Jason is performing at several festivals throughout South Eastern Ohio.  His ultimate dream is to be part of the USO tour so that he can “give back” to the service men and women that keep our country safe.  He says “I may not have been able to serve our country, but I can still do what I can to help give back to them.”  “American” will be on his album and it is dedicated to all branches of the armed services, past, present and future.
